High Directive Fabry-Pérot Cavity Antenna by Using Reflecting Metasurface for 5G Applications

This paper presents a high directive Fabry-Pérot (FP) cavity antenna by using highly reflecting metasurface at 28 GHz for 5G applications. A highly reflecting metasurface is designed to achieve transmitting all energy in the cavity with minimum reflection. The structure of the antenna is a source antenna (patch antenna), a half-wavelength cavity and a highly reflecting metasurface (MS). The proposed antenna at 28 GHz have a good radiation performance in terms of directivity with 9 dB directivity improvement.
