An Origami Inspired Polarization-Insensitive FSS

An origami inspired frequency selective surface (FSS) design is proposed. Using the Miura-Ori origami pattern, traditional rhombic loop resonators are appropriately oriented to form a dual-band frequency selective surface. The proposed FSS consists of two identical layers that are rotated 90° in respect to each other. Due to this configuration, the designed FSS exhibits polarization insensitivity in a 2.5:1 bandwidth for broadside scan.
