SAR Image Simulation of Ship Turbulent Wake Using Semi-Empirical Energy Spectrum

A semiempirical energy spectrum-based method is proposed to simulate the synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images of ship turbulent wake. Several important features of the turbulence can be modeled in SAR image, including the jet wake, the vortex wakes and their interactions with the ambient waves. The efficiency and accuracy of this method are validated through a comparison with the classical two scale method and the experimental data.
