Simulation and Parameters Intelligent Optimization of Soft Recoil System

Soft recoil launching technology is an efficient method to reduce the recoil resistance of various artillery and guns. Different from traditional artillery, soft recoil artillery with soft recoil systems has rather complex launching process. By applying BP neural network in Simulink, the recoil resistance can be predicted and optimized for reducing the maximum force in a launching circle. In this study, a critical analytic equation model for a soft recoil system is established. BP neural network and particle swarm optimization (PSO) are used to optimize the size of flow port in recoil mechanism under typical launching condition. The maximum value of recoil resistance decreases to 136642N, 22% lower than the normal design. Furthermore, the resistance has a relatively stable trend in the recoil process, fitting the requirements of artillery engineering.
