Experimental study on the impact of reciprocating compressor systems on the power quality in electrical power supply systems

This paper makes an analysis based on experimental studies on the impact of reciprocating compressor systems on the power supply system itself. Due to the periodic change of the drag torque of the reciprocating compressors, fluctuations in the current occurs. This in turn, depending on the ratio of the power supply and the load as a reciprocating compressor system, we analyze the power quality in the power supply system. Based on the experiments performed, this impact was assessed and recommendations are made to minimize the negative impact of these consumers on the power quality.
