Sentiment Analysis for POI Recommender Systems

In recent years, researchers have explored a new way of providing recommendations to a user based on the existing reviews. Nowadays, users search for most of the details about the various tourist Point Of Interest (POI) to make their choices according to their interests. Many times, it is difficult for the user to make the right choices on POI due to a large amount and redundant information. This is commonly known as information overloading and recommendation systems are most useful to address these issues.The recommendation system helps the user to suggest tourist locations as per their interests. Most of the research is based on the numerical rating given by users on respective visited POI's. We use reviews data to recommend the POI's using the Sentiment Intensity Aanalyzer (SIA). SIA helps to get the review's weightage which suggest the top places based on the score.
