Application of ICT and BIM in the implementation of Building Byelaws

Using ICT and BIM to analyze the building byelaws would require using different tools. For this purpose, we used the flutter framework for developing the app that will serve such purpose. The prerequisites for this was Cobie’s spreadsheet that would have the data extracted from the building drawn in Autodesk Revit (BIM). The Programming language used here is Dart, which is an object-oriented language and it runs on flutter framework. The code was written in Dart Programming language which is an object-oriented language and stacks the whole code in the form of widgets. For this purpose, we created a number of widgets that would be needed for the running of our application which involved a File Picker Code which would be required to pick the file that would be needed for analysis and then we needed an analysis logic code that will run logic on the code and is related to the main mechanism of the code. A case study was conducted upon an under construction commercial building situated on Ring Road in Peshawar KPK has been discussed. A model was drawn using Autodesk Revit and every asset detail of the building was added into the BIM software. The model file was then extracted as an excel worksheet using the Cobie spreadsheet plugin. The file then uploaded into the app analyzed the spreadsheet against the Building Byelaws and was able to find any violation.
