Wind Energy Micorogrids for Smart Grid in Rural Sindh — Nooriabad

Developing countries are now shifting towards renewable energy microgrid (MG) frameworks for rural electrification. In such a paradigm, the shift embarks variation in the network planning for future trends. Pakistan is one of such developing country with an evolving power grid. Southern Pakistan consists of Sindh province with a lot of population distributed in the rural areas. Transmission of power is only limited to main cities due to lack of funds and distributed network planning although the prospect of renewable energy is favorable enough in this region to supply country and mitigate the power issue. To ascertain maximum utilization of the renewable resources for future policies and planning, robust and reliable planning needs to be done. In this aspect, distributed sovereign control of these sustainable MGs is proposed for the region of Nooriabad which is associated with various rural regions. Independent MGs are formulated to comply with the increasing population of the region.
