Numerical Analysis of a Graphene-based SPR Sensor by the Finite Element Method

In this paper we present a numerical analysis of an approximate model of Surface Plasmon Resonance sensor (SPR sensor) in the Surface Plasmon Coupled Emission (SPCE) configuration based on graphene, using a software grounded on the Finite Element Method, COMSOL Multiphysicso. The model is formed by a multilayer structure: Air/Graphene/SiO
₂
/ Graphene/ Prism, being located in the region of Air a radiate hertzian dipole operating in the range of Terahertz. The graphene layers are modeled as surface impedances with conductivity described by the Kubo Formula. Parametric analyzes of the near and far field are carried out in function of the chemical potential applied in the graphene layers, where we verified the emission coupled control by the dynamic doping of the graphene.
