An Efficient and Anti-abuse Network-layer Anonymity Protocol under SDN

An increasingly large number of users have begun using anonymous communication systems to protect their privacy, which means people pay more attention to privacy-preserving. Meanwhile, these anonymous systems are also abused by cybercriminals for malicious criminal activities, posing threats to network security. Therefore, we propose An Efficient and Anti-abuse Network-layer Anonymity Protocol under Software Defined Network (SDN) architecture, named ENAP-SDN, to provide not only strong anonymity to users, but also supervision on illegal and criminal activities. We use the SDN controller to provide an elaborate-designed mechanism of secure path establishment that hides path information and randomizes the position of encrypted routing information of every node. Besides, we design some interfaces between controller and nodes to obtain different levels of access to original path information to help prevent anonymity abuse. Our experiments demonstrate the privacy and efficiency of our proposal.
