Open-source ERP systems: an overview

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems are one of the most adopted systems by many organizations. ERP systems have continued to evolve since they first appeared in the 1960s and with the usages of technologies such as Machine Learning and Data Mining it is a clear indicator that they won't stop evolving. This paper reviews the current state of ERP functionalities and technologies in open-source software (OSS), suitable for small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs). Sixteen systems are reviewed by a set of criteria, such as programming language, database management systems (DBMS), and offered functionalities.
