Tracking The Development Of Six Wheat Varieties Using Infrared Imaging And Image Processing Algorithms

The current paper presents a study on the growth of six varieties of wheat. The complete growth cycle -from germination to maturation is tracked. The observations are performed on a dedicated experimental field, where the different wheat varieties are sowed based on a specialized plan. The monitoring technique used to track the growth is presented in details. It includes the application of infrared imaging and specialized image processing that allows to record and estimate vegetation indexes. Using those indexes evaluation of the growth and development of the wheat is made and presented.
