Aspects Regarding the Infrared Monitoring of Electrical Equipment Temperature

This paper presents the infrared monitoring procedure consisting of thermal images interpretation. There are also presented some aspects regarding the thermography investigation report. The article also investigates if the thermal time constant and reaching the permanent regime temperature influences the decision taken in appreciating the thermal stresses of electrical equipment monitored by infrared thermography devices. In the paper was analyzed a case study to present in what matter the infrared thermography monitoring procedure is affected by not reaching the steady-state regime temperature of the electrical equipment.
