How to Configure 5G DMRS

In this study, the channel estimation performance of the 5G demodulation reference signals (DMRS) for physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) is investigated for various DMRS parameter configurations. The main goal is to perform the performance tests under different use case scenarios and channel conditions, which is necessary for base station to be able to adapt and make necessary changes in the DMRS configuration. For this reason, first the standardized DMRS structure and parameters are shortly introduced. Then, the mean squared error (MSE) for channel estimation and sistem block error rate (BLER) curves are obtained for different channel delay spread values, user equipment (UE) speeds, OFDM numerologies, number of MIMO layers for various DMRS structure and parameters.
