Numerical Investigation on the Nonlinear Dynamics of the Monolithically Integrated Mutual Injected Semiconductor Laser with Short-coupled Regime

Recently, a large number of advances in monolithically integrated mutual injected semiconductor lasers (MI-MISLs) have propelled microwave photonic (MWP) technologies to new potentials with a compact, reliable, and green implementation. Much research has examined that MI-MISLs can realize the same or even better microwave photonic functions compared to discrete lasers by taking advantages of enhanced light–matter interactions. They are beneficial towards the future of integrated microwave photonics (IMWP) once integrating the other optical components such as modulators, amplifiers, transmission waveguide and so on. Until now, there exist an amount of exploration concerning the experimental application. However, to my knowledge, the numerical investigations in the MI-MISLs is scarcely ever reported. Herein, to better make use of the MI-MISLs in the MWP systems, in this paper, the nonlinear dynamics of the MI-MISLs would be numerically researched.
