Design and Development of a Digital Scribe for Visually Challenged Students

Scribes are being used to scribe exams for visually challenged students. Hunting for scribes is always a challenge and adds to examination stress. Shortage of scribes during exam time is also a major problem. In order to overcome these problems, a digital scribe is proposed and a prototype is designed bridging technology and humanity. The proposed digital scribe recognizes the sentences uttered by the visually challenged and scribes it on a paper, enabling the scribe to assist two or more visually challenged students, using the proposed system. The prototype consists of a set of sensors and motors to scribe. A patent has been filed on the proposed work and the same can be employed for various other applications too.
