A Wideband Kanji Patch Antenna for 5G Sub-6-GHz Applications

This paper proposes a Chinese Kanji-shaped antenna array, which consists of three different Chinese characters with L-shaped feeding probes that are connected to the feeding network. By assigning positions of the Kanjis and adjusting the phase of each Chinese Kanji element, the designed Chinese Kanji-shaped antenna array provides a wide bandwidth ranging from 2.3 GHz to 4.2 GHz and good directivity in the operating bandwidth. Moreover, the proposed antenna can not only cover several under-used frequency bands but also has a meaningful and artistic appearance, which promotes the antenna to a wide range of applications, such as WLAN/3G/4G/5G and C-band applications.
