Examples

Examples are presented that illustrate the application of the strength and loading rules, including for a pole in tangent (no line angle) construction, as well as at a line angle. In some cases, a relatively simple calculation can confirm the very limited effect of an additional facility added to a pole line. Although a detailed formal analysis, possibly including sophisticated software tools, is sometimes required, or appropriate, it is also important that the user have some understanding of the technical issues. Such expertise will help avoid the acceptance of obvious erroneous results, created by incorrect inputs or other user error, which may have not otherwise been apparent.
