IoT Driven Healthcare Monitoring System

Technological evolution in the area of healthcare enables different ways of managing patients' medical records thus improving the quality of healthcare. In this regard, this chapter offers an outline of developing the Internet of Things (IoT) technology in the area of healthcare as a flourishing research and experimental trend at the present time. The main advantages and benefits have been considered in this chapter. Moreover, it has been established that most of the hospitals in a number of countries are still covering many issues concerning their exchange of health information. In recent times, several studies in the healthcare information system proposed that the shortcomings of health information is one of the most significant challenges with the management of patient medical records. As a result, in this chapter, we provide a detailed design and overview of the IoT healthcare system and its architecture. Furthermore, a full explanation of merits and demerits has been focused on using IoT in‐patients' healthcare.
