Parameter Identification for acoustic noise analysis of SRM made of 6.5% Si Steel and Amorphous Iron - Comparison of noise Analysis and Experiment-

In switched reluctance motors the radial magnetic forces are the main cause of acoustic noise at low rotational speed. In the analysis of the acoustic noise due to electromagnetic forces, the Young’s modules and Poisson’s ratio are necessary. Thus, it is necessary to identify these parameters. In computer model of acoustic noise and vibration analysis. Therefore, three test stators are fabricated with the electrical steel, the 6.5% Si steel, and the amorphous iron. These stator cores are hit by an impulse hammer and resonance frequencies are identified. In addition, in FEA package, these stator cores are modeled, and modal analysis has carried out with changing the Young’s modules and the Poisson’s ratio. The optimum values are identified for electrical steel, 6.5% Si steel and amorphous iron. In addition, the calculation of the acoustic noise is carried out and compared with experimental results. The parameters obtained in this paper can be applicable to various motors.
