Dynamic Antenna Allocation in 5G MIMO HetNet using Weighted Majority Cooperative Game Theory

Multiple number of antennas with a frequency reuse approach of massive Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) gives an attractive solution to cover the massive number of mobile devices in 5G heterogeneous network (HetNet). In this article, we proposed a dynamic antenna allocation algorithm to the femtocell base stations (FBSs) and also in MIMO users depends on the load of the FBSs and the mobile devices using weighted majority cooperative game (WMCG) theory. Here, weight refers to the number of mobile devices that are operated through the FBS. The mobile network operator (MNO) assigns the number of antennas to the FBS depends on their load. When the femtocells go to sleep mode, the antennas which are used to provide the signal to those femtocells, they are shifted to the MIMO users or it goes to switch off mode. FBS consumes less energy when switched off mode, which greatly reduces the power consumption of the total network. In this article, we have calculated power consumption, Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio (SINR) and Spectral Efficiency (SE) of the network. The power consumption reduces by ~ 20% and SINR and SE increases by ~ 25% and ~ 28% respectively than the exiting approaches.
