Pinhole based Table Top Light-Field Holographic Display with High Optical Efficiency

In this paper, a pinhole based table top light field holographic display with high optical efficiency is newly proposed, and with the numerical ray tracing design for the focusing light source array based backlight model it is testified that a new type of pinhole based light field holographic display system could be implemented. Two types of focusing beam array based backlight models are employed in the proposed light field display system. As the result, we confirm that the proposed system could have potential performance for commercial applications due to enhanced light efficiency, and wider viewing zone comparing with conventional lens array based light field system.
