Thermodynamic Analysis of a Single-Stage Carbon Black Plasma Synthesis From Carbonaceous Waste

This article presents the results of initial thermodynamic analysis of possible direct carbon black (CB) plasma synthesis from the carbonaceous wastes. Equilibrium concentration of components for plasma pyrolysis of the wood-based wastes, rice husk, and recycled plastic in the temperature range 800-3000 K was determined. The specific power consumption for the plasma synthesis process has been calculated for various types of carbonaceous wastes, taking into consideration the dilution of the mixture with plasma and carrier gases, which allows optimizing the parameters of the plasma reactor. The data obtained could be used for the engineering of plasma systems for CB production from investigated carbonaceous wastes.
