A Multi-Frequency Yangent Delta Meter for Monitoring High-Voltage Power Equipment

The article examines the architecture of a digital dielectric loss tangent meter designed to control dielectrics in high-voltage equipment. The tangent of the dielectric loss angle is one of the most significant characteristics that determine the quality indicators of transformer oils and high-voltage equipment. Measuring this parameter with high accuracy allows you to quickly make decisions about the need for appropriate preventive or repair measures. A significant problem in such meters is the high level of noise. In combination with the GOST-R requirements for the measurement error of the dielectric loss tangent of no more than 2E-5, this leads to the need to use precision analog components when implementing a bridge measurement circuit. This article discusses the dielectric loss tangent meter implemented by the authors, based on direct restoration of the vector signal diagram, and provides the architecture of a new generation of the meter, which uses a hardware convolution function kernel sample generator implemented in FPGA within the system-on-chip approach.
