Study of the Junction of a Slab with a Column of the Beamless Floor

One of the most common types of floors in residential and public buildings is a monolithic reinforced concrete beamless floor. One of the important problems is the junction of the column with the floor slab, ensuring sufficient rigidity and strength of the slab against punching respectively. At present there are various ways to strengthen this junction against punching. The article discusses various possibilities of transverse reinforcement of a floor slab which can avoid punching. The comparison of design solutions of this unit is given. The optimal type of strengthening by strength and economic criteria has been identified.
