Research Status of Insulation Detection Technology for Less Oil-Immersed Power Equipment

Less oil-immersed power equipment generally refers to oil-immersed CT, PT, and high-voltage bushings of 110kV and above. Those power equipments are characterized by oil-paper insulation, less insulation oil, and high-level layout. Due to the lack of effective insulation detection technology, safety accidents such as roof fall, explosion and fire sometimes occur on less oil-immersed power equipment. This article firstly introduces the current commonly used less oil-immersed power equipment insulation detection technology and its characteristics, then systematically introduces the comprehensive monitoring technology of less oil-immersed power equipment based on pressure, and expounds its principle and effectiveness, as well as the comprehensive monitoring methods of external UHF and H2 detection, finally, at the end of this article, the development direction of insulation detection technology for less oil-immersed power equipment is given.
