Determination of the Electrical Field Intensity Affecting a Person Situated under the Phase Conductor of a High Voltage Power line

When a person is under strong electric field he is not only feeling uncomfortable, but also is exposed to serious hazards (disturbances in the central nervous system, heart, blood system, etc.). On this basis norms and regulations are being developed, that treat the relation between the strength of the electric field and the time of exposition without protection. There have been worked out analytical dependences that allow evaluation of the electric field strength according to the geometrical dimensions of the power lines and the transmitted voltage. Especially actual is the question about staying under the power lines while dealing with agricultural activities, staying of people and animals near high and ultrahigh-voltage equipment.
