Energy Efficient Technology for Torrefied Biofuel Production

Approximately 70% of the Russian Federation territories, where about 20% of the country's population lives, has no centralized power supply. The creation of energy supply systems based on local fuel and energy resources, which include peat, wood and agricultural waste, as well as various types of life wastage, is of paramount importance for our country. The article presents the results of research on the development of new methods for energy utilization of biomass by means of torrefaction technology. Torrefaction or low-temperature pyrolysis allows to obtain high-quality biofuels for distributed energy from various types of biomass.
