Optimization of Water Supply by the Method with Model Predictive

Water distribution network is a complex system that is a very important part of a city's infrastructure. A city needs to be supplied with water at all times not only to fulfill daily water demands of the city dwellers and industrial water demand, but also to provide enough water in case of emergency or fire. As cities grow larger, so does the water demand, infrastructure complexity and difficulty to manage the system efficiently. Model predictive control is a relatively new approach to system control that relies on predictions of system's future behavior on a moving horizon to decide on the best course of action. This work implements the model predictive control and applies the implementation for the control of the water distribution network of a real city.
