Analysis of Effectiveness of the Modified Method of Amplitude Suppression of Correlated non-Gaussian Noise

The use of the modified method of amplitude suppression of non-Gaussian noise using inertial non-linear function generator (INFG) is presented and analyzed. The conditions under which the signal-to-noise ratio at the output of the block of nonlinear block (NLB) is maximized are determined. The operation of INFG under the influence of Gaussian noise is described. The gain obtained by optimizing the amplitude characteristic of the NLB is shown. The gain from optimization is maximum with large values of the correlation coefficient. Operation of INFG with polynomial signal processing in NLB is described. The optimal value of the coefficients of the polynomial is determined, which maximizes the suppression of additive noise. Operation of INFG under impact of harmonic interference is considered. Dependencies are built that show the efficiency of INFG exposed to uncorrelated and correlated non-Gaussian noise. It has been shown that the use of an optimal INFG allows harmonic interference to be suppressed to a level comparable to the internal noise of the device. When exposed to correlated noise, the efficiency of INFG is significantly lower than when exposed to uncorrelated noise. The efficiency of polynomial transformation in INFG can be almost equal to the optimal transformation in NLB.
