Boiler House as The Basis of Local Power Systems Design

Existing power supply systems were designed to operate in vertically integrated companies which are operating in a planned economy and administrative command management system. All system effects were extracted by the state, but it also ensured the availability and reliability of power supply. The power engineering transformation was carried out as a part of the reform and has led to reduce of efficiency, reliability reduced accessibility of centralized electricity and heat supply systems. For heat supply systems these processes have led to a decrease in Central Heating and Power Plants' heating load and widespread boiler houses appearing. The processes of consumers' transition to own power supply systems began in power supply systems in the form of own power. In some cases, local power systems of remote residential arrays have been formed in cities on the basis of cogeneration plant also taking the role of a district boiler house. The boiler house is an excellent facility that can form the basis of a new theory for the regional power systems development which consists of the local power systems formation based on cogeneration plants. The work explores the desirability and efficiency of boiler houses reconstruction to cogeneration plants. The choice of boiler houses power capacities suitable for reconstruction and generation technology is justified. In addition, limitations caused by differences in the volume and mode of heat and electric energy production and the tasks to be solved during the project of reconstruction of the boiler house to the cogeneration plant are defined.
