Characterization of pulse length-dependent nonlinearity of gold in the near-infrared by self-phase modulation

We experimentally study pulse-length dependence of the ultrafast nonlinear response of gold in the near-infrared via self-phase modulation, finding no increase in nonlinearity for increasing pulse lengths, in contrast to previous reports at visible wavelengths. © 2019 The Author(s).
