Methodology for Risk Assessment based on Grey Relational Analysis: A Case Study in the Automotive Industry

To determine whether hazards are allowable or not, risk assessment is crucial for occupational safety. In this study, a methodology is developed for risk assessment. There are three stages in this developed methodology. At the first stage, 25 process steps are considered where hazards occur in examined automotive industry. At the second stage, grey relational analysis method is used to assess risk. Finally, at the third stage, different weights assessments were performed to determine how much weight changes can impact the sorting results. The results show that the developed methodology has good potential for sorting hazards and it can be applied in many different areas.
