A Method for TDOA Errors Mitigation in UWB Positioning System

Contemporary UWB positioning systems are able to provide excellent localization accuracy. However, if the system is deployed in a multipath environment, where the propagation conditions are usually harsh, the positioning errors are significantly higher. The paper contains a description of a novel method for time difference of arrival measurement errors mitigation. The applied corrections depend on the current tag location and their values are determined with fingerprinting technique. The proposed method's efficiency was evaluated based on measurements performed with an UWB positioning system.
