Helicons in Solid-State Plasma of Cylindrical Configuration

Helicon electromagnetic eigenwaves of a cylindrical solid-state plasma waveguide that located in a coaxial constant magnetic field have been studied. It is shown that helicons are bulk-surface waves. In the case of ideal medium conductivity of waveguide, their propagation is accompanied by a surface current flowing along the generating lines of cylinder. The nonreciprocity effect of helicons that have the identical field distributions, but differing in the direction of propagation along the azimuthal coordinate, as well as when the external magnetic field is reversed the direction, has been noted.
