Production of High-power Ultrashort Pulses in the Long-wave Infrared Range

Production of ultrafast coherent radiation in the long-wave infrared range is of significant interest to both fundamental science and applications. We discuss the design and preliminary validation of a method to produce high-power ultrashort long-wave infrared pulses using optical parametric chirped-pulse amplification.
