Experimental study of water heating modes by a heat pump

Based on experimental studies, a comparison of the performance indicators of the “air-to-water” type heat pump under capacitive and flow-through modes of heating water in a tank-condenser was made. A detailed description of the design features of the experimental heat pump and the measurement scheme are given. The dependences of the change in the operational parameters of the heat pump thermodynamic cycle when the tank-condenser operation mode change during the entire period of water heating are obtained. It was detected that, in terms of energy indicators, a capacitive non-stationary mode of heating water is preferable to flow-through one. At the same time, the flow-through mode allows heating water without changing the parameters of the thermodynamic cycle, and water is always ready for use by the consumer.
