Analysis of the Electrical Properties of SimBench Low Voltage Benchmark Network Models

For research purposes in the field of electrical energy systems there is a need for sophisticated, representative and openly accessible network models for the simulative investigation of research tasks. For this purpose, a data set has been published under the name SimBench, which contains network models from the low to the extra-high voltage level that are intended to map the network structures in Germany. Due to the energy transition and the increasing integration of distributed energy resources in private households, the interest in simulative studies at the low voltage level is rising. Therefore, in this paper the low voltage models from SimBench are analysed with respect to their electrical properties. For this purpose, the node voltages and the utilization of equipment for different operating conditions are analyzed and the hosting capacity is evaluated.
