Let Me Show You My Pokemans 4

On April 20, 2005, an image of two cats looking at a Game Boy Advance (GBA) was posted to the Thai forum Pantip. About a year later, the YTMND user commie appropriated this image for a demotivational poster meme, pairing it with the popular phrase “Let me show you my Pokemans” (figure 4.1). Nothing about either posting is extraordinary on its own. By the mid-2000s, demotivational posters with austere black borders and cynical taglines had become common spoofs of the cheesy motivational posters found everywhere from corporate buildings to doctors' offices, the LOLcat had long been a revered internet mascot, and even the deliberate misspelling of “Pokémon” was old news.
