Application of a Kalman Filter in Scalar form for Discrete Control of Electromechanical Systems

Control of electromechanical systems coordinates due to discrete control of their parameters is quite common. In particular, a method of reactive power control of induction drives and generators by varying the number of sections of a capacitor bank is widely known. In the presence of short-term mechanical interference described by outliers of non-stationary random processes, false triggering may occur at switching points leading to worsening the technical performance of such systems. One option for reducing the number of false triggering is filtering the load signals. In the case of non-stationary random loading processes, such a filtering can be performed by a Kalman filter. It is proposed, if it is possible to neglect electromagnetic transients, to apply the Kalman filter algorithm in scalar form, which reduces the necessary processor productivity and its price. Expressions are found for determining the state, control and disturbances transient coefficients for the Kalman filter in scalar form.
