Experimental evaluation of reaction force from soil caused by root-cut blade motion of an automatic spinach harvester

This paper discusses the performance improvement of an automatic spinach harvester. The performance of the harvester depends on the path setting of the root-cut blade, which cuts the roots of spinach in soil. To improve the performance, an effective path-setting method is proposed but the effectiveness is not evaluated. This study demonstrates the effectiveness of the path based on results from an experimental system.
