Derivation of a Mathematical Model for Strip Walking in Hot Strip Finishing Mills

We propose a new state-space approach to derive the widely used mathematical model for strip walking in hot strip finishing mills. By the approach, we can extend the strip walking model to one that can represent more general conditions in hot rolling such as time-varying rolling speeds.
