Comparison of Chosen Electric and Magnetic Field Parameters Influence on Biological Samples Using Numerical Modelling and Simulation Methods

This article focuses on use of numerical simulation methods as a suitable tool for calculation and comparison of specific electromagnetic quantities within the irradiated volume. Comparison of two different applicators presented herein was performed to confirm homogeneity of low frequency magnetic field used in real experiments conducted on yeast cell cultures. Moreover, simulation results also provide valuable insight into the evaluation of electric field parameters, focusing especially on conductive current density, which could potentially affect transmembrane electric currents at cellular levels, or induce undesirable heating within the irradiated volume as well.
