The Cost of Indecision in Energy Efficiency. A Cost of Opportunity Analysis for an Industrial Consumer

Organisations are not always taking the recommendations of ISO 50001 group of standards into account when establishing their internal operational Guidelines and, by doing so, they end up neglecting some rather significant Energy Performance Improvement Actions (EPIAs). In this paper, the Cost of Indecision generated by a poor Energy Management Procedure will be analysed for an industrial consumer. The Cost of Opportunity Analysis will reveal the financial losses generated by not implementing the already identified EPIAs as soon as financially possible.
