Study of a microgrid using a private power generator during a utility grid failure

This study investigates the dynamic characteristics of a microgrid using a private power generator during a utility grid failure. If a utility grid failure occurs, the frequency and voltage of the generator will fluctuate. However, load power must always be of high quality. Therefore, continuing operation while suppressing the fluctuation of the voltage and frequency of the power generator is necessary. The generator is connected to the input or output side of the uninterruptible power system (UPS) of the microgrid, and the dynamic characteristics when the utility grid failure occurs are examined. By connecting the generator to the output side of the UPS, supplying power to the load without it being affected by the utility grid failure is possible.
