Design Modification and Supporting Device Development in Rapid Prototyping Machine

Rapid prototyping machine with FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling) is a machine used to create a prototype by inserting thermoplastic material into the extruder until the phase changes from solid to semisolid and the prototype becomes fully 3D. This research was carried out to replace and to modify damaged support devices to be new, such as drive rollers and nozzle size. Initially, the plastic filament used is 4 mm in diameter. However, the factory that sells 4 mm plastic filament stop producing the material. So, the filament is replaced with PLA (Polylactic Acid) material with a diameter of 1.75 mm. Therefore, the nozzle size must be replaced and modified into a hole diameter of 1.75 mm.
