Control Parameter Identification in Grid-side Converter of Directly Driven Wind Turbine Systems

This paper proposes a new method for control parameter identification of grid-side converter in directly driven wind turbine system. Firstly, making the converter control model of directly driven wind turbine system equivalent to a double closed-loop control with power control as its outer loop and current control as its inner loop, and the corresponding decoupled d-axis and q-axis mathematical model is established. Based on this model, the parameter identification method for the double closed-loop control is proposed by applying the step change power instruction and using the damped least square method according to the current response of d-axis and q-axis. The two-stage identification guarantees the parameter identification precision of both the inner and outer control loops, and the simulation results prove the feasibility of the proposed parameter identification method.
