MaxDelivery: A New Approach to a DTN Buffer Management

In the recent years, the Delay Tolerant Networks (DTNs) have been increasingly researched, offering alternative solutions in real-life contexts where the Internet cannot be used. Even if most of the proposed routing algorithms do not provide a buffer management policy, it was later demonstrated that the implementation of such a policy can considerably improve the performance metrics of the network. This paper presents an intermediate phase of an algorithm that optimizes the message transfer rate and resource consumption in a DTN network, in the context of a natural disaster situation. The proposed algorithm is called MaxDelivery and it has a specific policy for buffer management implemented.
