Technological and Medical Progress in Rural Bangladesh; A Survey and Study of the Challenges

While there has been great progress in the technology of medical devices, most people in developing countries do not have access to the healthcare technologies. Through a survey of households in rural Bangladesh, some challenges were identified in accessibility of technology and medical technology for the residents. There was just one doctor in the vicinity, but no hospital or clinic. Most took medicine based on the advice of their local store pharmacists. Nearly all were found to be living day to day, on only one main source of income. Women's empowerment had progressed, but education of women was very low.
