Investigation of the mutagenic properties of the Interferon-Lambda 1, Pegylated by Electron-Beam Method

There are many different viruses with significant impacts on human health. The development of effective and balanced risk-benefit antiviral drugs for using in obstetrics and gynaecology is an urgent task of modern medicine. Interferons (IFNs) can serve as the first line of immune defense against viral infection. Among the three types of IFNs, type III IFNs play important roles in antiviral immune activities [5]. While type III IFNs stimulate antiviral protection, which can protect the fetus and placenta from certain viral infections, type I IFNs have the opposite effect, damaging the structure and function of the placenta [3].The relevance of this project is due to the ability to create a domestic highly effective, safe and inexpensive drug based on pegylated interferon lambda (p-IFN-λ1). Therefore, it is very important to conduct a preclinical study of the mutagenic properties of the p-IFN-λ1 in experimental animals and in the somatic mosaic test system.
